Winter Date

Winter Date

Winter Date
by Mark E. Schrull

Cold cuddle from a stranger,
Snow is on the glass.
Blizzard strands us on the road,
Car is out of gas.

No hope of being found tonight,
The radio is dead.
Once we were brave and friendly,
Now shy and cool instead.

The temperature is dropping,
Our eyes meet in fright.
The only way to save ourselves,
Is hold each other tight.

Now we’re in each other’s arms,
Trying to stay alive.
We’ll hold each other all the night,
Or till some help arrives.

Of all the dates I’ve been on,
‘Tis different from the rest.
Of all the dates I’ve been on,
This one is the best.
