My Father My Dad

My Father, My Dad
by Mark E. Schrull

My Father, My Dad,
Is set into the earth.
And for the day we’re sad,
And give this day its worth.

But as all days must pass,
This one we’ll get through,
Replying on our family,
Which Dad nurtured and Dad grew.

He was the best of family men.
He was my mother’s man.
He laid upon us values,
He always lent a hand.

So for this day we weep,
And though our eyes are sad,
In our hearts we keep,
The love for our great Dad.
